Ibn Haldun University has taken a significant step toward effectively integrating practical training and internship programs into its curriculum.

As part of ongoing efforts to effectively integrate internships into Ibn Haldun University’s undergraduate and graduate programs, the first meeting of the Applied Education Commission—established in accordance with the Higher Education Council’s , the first meeting of the Applied Education Commission—established in accordance with the Higher Education Council’s Regulation on Applied Education in Higher Education—was held on April 7, 2026, in conjunction with the Senate Education Commission meeting, under the chairmanship of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Özcan Erkan AKGÜN.

During the meeting, the objectives, duties, and responsibilities of the Practical Training Commission were discussed, and a framework for conducting practical training processes more systematically and effectively across the university was evaluated. In this context, the document titled “Procedures and Principles Regarding the Planning and Implementation of Applied Education” was discussed, and fundamental principles regarding the planning, implementation, and monitoring of applied education were deliberated. Departments with experience in the internship process shared their insights. It was decided to hold sessions to provide a more comprehensive account of these experiences.

The meeting agenda also addressed common courses, the inclusion of internship courses in programs, the exemption and credit transfer guidelines, and the views and recommendations of the committee members.

These procedures and principles aim to regulate the processes related to the planning and implementation of practical training included in students’ educational plans, while also covering the scope of practical courses conducted at the undergraduate and graduate levels, the roles and responsibilities of relevant units, and the operational mechanisms.

Ibn Haldun University continues its efforts to enhance the quality of its educational processes, enabling students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical application.
